Domicile

All applicants must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, holding a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority on or before the cut-off date (03.11.2026).

Reservation

Reservation follows the category-wise breakup conveyed by the Indenting Department, in accordance with the J&K Reservation Act/Rules. Candidates seeking reserved category benefit must possess a valid certificate in the prescribed format strictly as on the cut-off date, certificates in any other format will not be entertained, and the applicant is solely responsible for procuring the correct format in time.

Horizontal Reservation (Ex-Servicemen & PwBD)

  • Applicable to the extent communicated by the Indenting Department(s)
  • Horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen applies to posts up to Pay Level-6E
  • An Ex-Servicemen candidate who has already availed horizontal reservation once in any earlier appointment cannot avail it again
  • ESM candidates must submit an affidavit (sworn before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate) and a Form-XIV certificate at the time of document scrutiny

How to Apply for JKSSB Class IV MTS Recruitment 2026

  1. Applications must be submitted online only, no other mode will be accepted
  2. Detailed instructions and the application portal link will be made available separately on jkssb.nic.in
  3. Applicants must indicate the specific Item Number(s) (cadre/department/post) they are applying for, only one application per item number is allowed
  4. Upload a live photograph and signature (10 KB to 20 KB in size)
  5. In-service candidates must submit a printout of the filled application along with a signed and stamped certificate through their Head of Department, forwarded before the last date of Document Verification

Important: Once submitted and an application number generated, no changes to any field will be entertained under any circumstances. Review every entry carefully before final submission.

Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates must appear for Document Verification with original documents plus self-attested photocopies, including:

  • Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate
  • Educational qualification certificates
  • Certificate for additional weightage claims (Casual Worker, Home District/Division, Widow/Divorced/Orphan status), where applicable
  • Ex-Servicemen: Form-XIV certificate
  • Candidates with degrees from outside J&K: Bonafide Certificate from the Controller/Registrar of the concerned university

No TA/DA is paid for participation in the written test or Document Verification.

PwBD Facilities: Scribe & Compensatory Time

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) who are otherwise eligible may avail a Scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination, subject to:

  • A valid disability certificate and a Certificate of Physical Limitation to Write (Annexure-B), issued by a Government Medical Board
  • A signed Letter of Undertaking for Using Own Scribe (Annexure-C)
  • The scribe must be of a lower educational grade than the candidate, not a relative, and not a student of the same institution/exam centre
  • The candidate must have applied as a PwBD candidate at the time of application, and submit all required documents to the Observer on the exam day

General Conditions

  • The actual number of posts may increase or decrease before the selection process concludes, JKSSB is not legally liable for such variation
  • Candidates found submitting fake/fabricated documents or misusing dignitaries’ names/photos face legal action under the Cyber/IT Act
  • Mobile phones, smart watches, smart glasses, AI-enabled devices, and Bluetooth devices are strictly banned in the exam hall
  • Multiple applications for the same item number will result in the latest one being considered; appearing in the exam more than once for the same item leads to cancellation and debarment
  • The Board’s decision on all matters; eligibility, selection, cadre/department allocation; is final and binding
