You need to be between 20 and 28 years old; that is, born between 2 August 1998 and 1 August 2006, both dates included.

A couple of practical notes here: SC/ST/OBC relaxation can be combined with only one of the other categories, not stacked endlessly. And if you’re an OBC candidate, your certificate needs the “non-creamy layer” clause and has to be dated 1 April 2026 or later, right up to your document verification date, an older certificate won’t be accepted even if you genuinely qualify as OBC.
Qualification
Any graduation degree from a recognised university, as on 21 August 2026. If you’re in your final year, you can still apply provisionally, but you’ll need to show proof of having actually passed by that date if you get selected. There’s no minimum percentage requirement mentioned, a pass is a pass.

Both exams carry negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer, leaving a question blank costs you nothing, guessing randomly can actually hurt your score. Only your Main exam marks count toward the final merit list; Prelims is purely a filter to decide who gets called for Mains.
Local Language Test
Once you clear Mains and get provisionally allotted, there’s one more hurdle, a Local Language Proficiency Test in the language specified for the state you applied to. How Provisional Allotment Actually Works
