Important Vacancies
Senior Canning Attendant
The Senior Canning Attendant post is advertised under the Agriculture Production Department. The post carries Level-2 pay scale (₹19,900–₹63,200) and requires Matriculation or equivalent qualification with six months’ training in Fruit Preservation. Selection is based on merit obtained in the written/OMR examination.
Horticulture Technician Grade-IV
The notification includes Horticulture Technician Grade-IV vacancies in several districts. The prescribed qualification is 10+2 with one-year Basic Horticulture training. Selection will be based on merit obtained in the written/OMR examination.
Health Educator
For the Health Educator post, candidates must have Graduation with Science from a recognised university. The post carries Level-6 pay scale (₹35,400–₹1,12,400), and selection is based on written/OMR examination merit.
Sanitary Inspector
The Sanitary Inspector post carries Level-6D pay scale (₹35,800–₹1,13,200). Candidates require 10+2 or above qualification with a minimum two-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health from a recognised institute, State Medical Faculty or J&K State Para Medical Council.
Junior Pharmacist
Junior Pharmacist vacancies have been advertised in multiple districts of Kashmir Division. The qualification prescribed is minimum 10+2 with Science along with a Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy Course from a recognised institute.
Junior Laboratory Assistant
The notification contains 48 vacancies in total for the Junior Laboratory Assistant posts in Divisional Kashmir and Divisional Jammu. Candidates must be graduates with Science, while preference will be given to candidates having a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Laboratory Course in Chemistry/other Science.
The notification further clarifies that the PG Diploma in Professional Laboratory Course must be at least one year in duration and obtained from a recognised institution.
JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
Candidates must carefully check the qualification prescribed against the particular item number before applying. The Board states that candidates must possess the prescribed educational/technical qualification on or before the cut-off date. Original certificates will be required during Document Verification.
Where an equivalent qualification is claimed, candidates may be required to produce an appropriate Equivalence Certificate or obtain equivalence from the competent authority. Candidates possessing qualifications other than those prescribed for the post may have their candidature rejected.
JKSSB Age Limit 2026
The age is to be calculated as on 01 January 2026.
The maximum age limits mentioned in the notification are:

For Open Merit candidates, the notification specifies that the candidate should not have been born before 01 January 1986 and should not have been born after 01 January 2008.
JKSSB Domicile Requirement
Candidates applying for these posts must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
A valid J&K Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format must be possessed on or before the last date of submission of the online application, which is 09 October 2026, unless the deadline is extended.
JKSSB Application Fee 2026
The application fee prescribed in the notification is:
– ₹600 for candidates under the general fee category
– ₹500 for candidates belonging to SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD categories
The fee is payable through online modes, including Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. The notification states that applications submitted without the prescribed fee will not be considered.
JKSSB Selection Process 2026
The selection for the advertised posts will be based on the written/OMR examination, with the specific selection criteria given against each post in Annexure-A.
The examination will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. Questions will be set in English language only, and there will be negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question for each wrong answer.

Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification will have to appear with their original documents along with self-attested photocopies.

Candidates claiming reservation benefits must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format as applicable on the cut-off date.
JKSSB Reservation Certificate Requirement
Candidates applying under reserved categories must ensure that their category certificate is valid as on the cut-off date and must upload it with the online application.
The notification specifically states that certificates submitted in formats other than the prescribed format will not be entertained.
JKSSB Exam Pattern and Negative Marking
The written examination will be conducted through objective-type multiple-choice questions.
